Domane AL 2

The Trek Domane AL 2 is Trek’s entry point into road bike riding. Built with the same lightweight aluminium frame and a carbon fork as it’s big brother the Domane AL 3 it’s the perfect starter road bike.

IsoSpeed Fork

One of the highlights of the new Domane AL range is the new carbon fork which is curved rather than straight bladed which really dampens down road buzz and vibration without compromising handling.

It still turns in and descends nimbly like a racing bike but now has a much more comfortable and stable front end.

Features

The new Domane AL range all have rack and carrier mounts so are perfect for a touring or commuting set up

“The Domane AL range have very neat hidden fender mounts that blend into the frame if you chose to ride without mudguards but also allow the fitting of proper, full length guards for all weather riding”

Trek have been improving integration on all of their bikes for a number of years now and this bike benefits from trickle down technology that up to now was only available on their carbon bikes. There are a couple of really clever integration features like hidden fender mounts, hidden DuoTrap speed and cadence sensor capacity and rack mounts to name a few.

Drivetrain

The Domane AL 2 runs a Shimano 16 speed Claris drivetrain with a wide range of gearing available as it has a compact 50/34 chainset and runs an 11-28 rear cassette offering plenty of low gears to get you up the hills.

Wheels and Tyres. Wider is the new skinny

The wheelset has been upgraded from the model that this bike replaces to Bontrager TLR (tubeless ready) and it runs on Bontrager’s T2 tyres in 25mm width. This is in line with the current trend for wider tyres offering better grip and more comfort.
